Dr Retchford provides comprehensive general practice care with a particular interest in Women’s Health, Antenatal Care and skin cancer medicine. After qualifying, Dr Retchford spent several years in rural and remote South Australia and, since moving to Tasmania, has practiced in rural areas in the south of the state. Dr Retchford enjoys watercolour painting, cooking, and spending time outdoors and on the water on Bruny Island.
Dr. Luke Freckelton
Dr. Luke Freckelton holds a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Notre Dame (2015) and a Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (2022). He also has a Master’s in Public Health. His special interests include all aspects of general practice, men’s and mental health, immunisations, chronic disease management, children’s and over 75 health checks, sexual and preventative health, and medical check-ups.

Dr. Gisselle is a dedicated General Practitioner in Byron Bay, known for her expertise and patient-centered care. She began her GP career in 2019 after completing extensive hospital training at Newcastle, Lismore, and Ballina Hospitals. A graduate of The University of Leeds Medical School, she offers holistic and evidence-based medical care to the Northern Rivers community.
Dr. Gisselle’s practice spans a wide range of General Practice, including women and child health, antenatal care, sexual health, dermatology, rheumatology, travel medicine, aged care, and chronic care. She has a special interest in skincare, nutrition, and sub-specialist knowledge of Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes, lymphoedema, and lipoedema. Her compassionate approach focuses on preventative care to enhance patients’ health and well-being.
Outside of work, Dr. Gisselle enjoys the lifestyle and natural beauty of Byron Bay with her family, including her husband, toddler, and their Cavoodle, Fonzie.
Dr. Monica Mu

Dr Monica was born and raised in Darwin and completed her medical studies at Flinders University. She is a proud fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practice (RACGP) and has worked as a GP in the Northern Territory where she has served diverse communities, both urban and remote. Her passion lies in making a meaningful difference in the lives of her patients. With a keen focus on women’s health, she offers a range of specialised services including family planning, insertion of contraceptive implants and intrauterine devices (IUDs), and menopausal hormonal therapy. Monica is also a staunch advocate for preventive medicine, empowering her patients to take control of their health and wellbeing. Away from work Monica enjoys relaxing and spending time with her friends and family. She knows the importance of work-life balance and enjoys exploring new places, making travel an enriching part of her life.
Dr. Cigdem Kaya
MBBS, FRACGP, MSc (Derm)
Dr Cigdem Kaya completed her medical studies in Sydney and gained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2022. Since then she has been traveling and working in rural and remote areas of Australia. She has an interest in emergency medicine, dermatology, mental and sexual health. When she’s not working Dr Kaya enjoys cooking, exploring and going for hikes with her dog, who accompanies her across Australia.
